What do you mean by sacrifice? Before any person can join the Craft they have to make an application to their local Lodge. This involves being interviewed in their own home with any spouse being present. They are specifically asked about any ramifications in family harmony about their joining as well as their time and financial commitment to the Lodge.

So if there is any issue from a partner, regarding them or their dependents, the Lodge would not proceed with the application.

Becoming a Freemason does not in any way give you material wealth, but it does increase your standing and self esteem and benefit to society.
